HE told Confidential in February about wanting to "ride the magic wave that is rising in Australian film" and now it looks like Russell Crowe's next project has been uncovered.
Movie industry murmurs this week has the seasoned Aussie actor in talks to make his directorial debut with a period cop drama called 77.
Crowe, who has for years been wanting to get behind the camera, is said to be eagerly awaiting a script rewrite based on an original screenplay from LA Confidential's James Ellroy.
The film is set in the 1970s and concerns the unsolved murder of a Los Angeles police officer.
