Actress Vera Farmiga has joined the cast of the Universal Pictures thriller Safe House alongside Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds.
The story centers on a CIA agent (Ryan Reynolds) who must guide a dangerous criminal (Denzel Washington) to safety after their safe house is attacked. Vera Farmiga will play the CIA handler of Ryan Reynolds' character who tries to guide them to safety.
Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard, and Liam Cunningham, Tim McGraw, and Robert Patrick have also joined the Safe House cast, although it isn't known what their roles will be yet.
Daniel Espinosa is directing Safe House from a screenplay by David Guggenheim. Production is currently under way in Cape Town, South Africa.
Safe House comes to theaters February 10th, 2012 and stars Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, Tim McGraw, Vera Farmiga, Joel Kinnaman, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Shepard, Liam Cunningham. The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa.
